The GPad: Google's Answer to the iPad


Tablet PC and MID (mobile internet device) has taken the consumer electronics market by storm over the past year, and looks sure to become a fixture in millions more pockets in 2011 and beyond. Although IPAD still holds the largest market share, consumers are starting to see a wide range of choices - some of them at very reasonable prices - a whole slew of other manufacturers jump on the bandwagon tablets. With its history of competing head on with other giants in the market of information technology, it should come as no great surprise that Google has launched her own line of tablet PCs, called gpad.

gpad series uses Google's own Android operating system, which was adopted by many other brands MID. With regular updates Android, gpad range becomes increasingly capable of performing a great variety of functions. If the value of a large display, look at the 10 inch gpad, that does not support WiFi, but no camera. This is an excellent device for people who love to watch movies on the go, however, or who may be using the MID to work on documents or spreadsheets. But, if you like the sound of a top-of-the-range gpad that costs much less than their big-brand rivals, 9.7-inch model with a capacitive screen, and handwriting and voice recognition, could be the right of its streets. This high-spec MID runs on Android 2.2, and more powerful than others thanks to Freescale GPads Core-A8 800Mhz processor and 512MB RAM. 8GB hard drive can be expanded to 32 GB, a 2.0 megapixel camera gives you high quality photos and video clips.
